Treadmill

Ive pyt on so much weight in the last year due tobnot being abke to exercise. ..no dog walking etc. I want to hit the treadmil. When can i di that. Hubby wont let me....says i will bust my butt

Hi Sassy,

I know what you mean ... I am struggling with the same issue - for some reason treadmill is not recommended by physical therapist, even at 12 weeks post op -

i am 21 days post op of 2nd THR and ready to tackle the extra weight ...

PT told me to not make that my focal point but to do my exercises, go for walks, all in moderation, to get my muscles stronger - my (ample) body is not ready yet to handle extra effort and pressure ... not easy huh ? I look in hte mirror and goodness .... what happened and will I ever resemble my old self ever again ?

so darling, first things first - one step at a time, taking your time with it ...

big hug

I am in the same boat at 10 weeks out I look at my eliptical which never was done quickly or agressively anyways. I never did for more than 5 minutes lol I got long winded even on slow, and the treadmill which is doable.  I do for 15-30 minutes only on 1.5 speed (Im scared). I have never used it at a fast speed anyways. No incline at all just straight up walking with my hand rails for security. Im nervous. But its not for weight loss at this moment its for stregnthening. Im 60 lbs at least overweight Grrr. Its too early for treadmill for you Im sure your PT is correct.

Renee. I was done sept 11. I think we are a day apart

I was on the treadmill at 4 weeks, but no incline,  just a nice slow walk.....
