Hi, just been diagnosed with Fybro yesterday one thing my husband and kids queried was is it the reason why I have head tremor? does anyone else experience this as well? TIA
Hi Mary
Sorry to hear you were diagnosed with Fibro, I've been diagnosed with it for about half a year now, and I'm still trying to come to terms with it, and the effects it has on us.
You mention head tremors, can you elaborate a bit more on this please?
I get funny pressure, unsteady type feelings in my head that only last very briefly, but make me feel faint and like I'm going to pass out. Is this sort of what you get?
From what I've read in the books 'Living with Fibromyalgia' and 'The Fibromyalgia Handbook', Fibromyalgia has various effect on our nerves, as well as causing aches and pains in muscles and joints, which I believe is the cause of these strange head bouts. Also I've read some of our blood cells develop differently to a non Fibro sufferer, and can become quite jagged and rough, not smooth as they should be. This in turn causes more friction when they travel around our body, making them less efficient in carrying oxygen and carbon dioxide around our body. This leads me to believe that sometimes not enough oxygen, or too much carbon dioxide, is getting to our head. Thats one theory anyway!
Don't know if that helps in anyway, but reading up as much as you can on Fibro can help get a better understanding of the illness.
Hello, Mary, yes I have head tremors. I am 71 and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia for about a year. I also have polymyalgia rheumatica, an autoimmune disease. Can't believe how fibromyalgia continues to impact me. This list of symptoms seems to continue to grow. Best wishes to you.
Hi Mary. I'm sorry about the Fibro diagnosis. I was diagnosed 11 years ago.
At first it was just joint pain. Now my diagnosis list is pretty long. Many
different issues are caused by Fibromyalgia. I too am a little confused by
head tremors. I have tremors in my body. Hands, feet, legs. My muscles jerk
when I am using them. They stop when I relax my muscles. TIA is a
Transient Ischemic Attack or a mini stroke. Did you have a mini stroke? I'm
curious because of my own issues.
Hi, No I have not had a stroke, the tremors have been around for some years but got worse these last few years as my pain worsens mainly if I'm stressed and only my head.
Well Mary, I have to say that as long as I have been dealing with
this, there is now no surprise to any issues found. It's been 11 years
for me and there always seems to be a new diagnosis added to my
chart. I joke with my doc about it. There can't be any more room in
there. Everything somehow leads back to Fibromyalgia. There are
other people that I speak with that have different problems
associated with it. Hopefully your list will be short. My
recommendation is eat well, and by that I mean healthy, exercise
lightly as not to aggravate the Fibro and get lots of sleep. I hope you
find all your answers and feel better soon.
Thank you, I am having a not so bad week since being told what was wrong with me has actually made me feel slightly better now that I know I'm not going mad in thinking I was ageing much faster than my friends as I had so many more aches and pains, now I know what I am dealing with I can sort out my life according to my limits.
I'm really glad you are feeling a little better. Everyone I saw didn't
know what was wrong either. Finally referred to rheumatologist who
really helped. I felt much better, just like you, when I found out what
it was. I hope that your medical problems are few. Much love.
