Trev

JUstinov started my withdrawal off zopiclone and first night last night was terrible any advice would be appreciated thanks Trevor

See you doctor for help.  You can't just quit, I did and I had the shakes, was hot and cold and didn't sleep at all for a week, then just a few hours.  It slowly got better.  Now I sleep well if I get a lot of exercise and have no alcohol after about 7:00 pm.  My doctor put me on trazodone 50 mg.  I don't use it every night, I have no side effects.  I still miss the quick mindless sleep of zopicoline.

Hey Trev. I came off 20mg of them last year. My tips would be make sure you are in your happiest place before you take the first hit. I went to a beach in malaria to do my first hit. Sounds scary but it was nicer than being alone at home. Tip 2. Keep yourself busy. If you stay at home doing it you will feel sh*t but keep working in something relaxing and time will kill it off. Tip 3. Accept that it is ok to want to go on them again. Like people quitting smoking withdrawal may lead you back on them. Tip 3. Give it time and have someone you can call if you need to. I used a counsellor and we spent most of the time understanding these emotions I had never had before. It is possible to do. Took me a year to get off all my prescribed drugs.

Hi

I hope you're not going cold turkey? Because zopiclone has terrible withdrawal symptoms.

I am currently tapering slowly off zopiclone, by having my medication changed to diazepam by my addiction specialist doctor. He has, for now, taken the prescribing out of my GP's hands as it's quite complicated - but not impossible.

Trevor, please can you tell me how long you were on zopiclone, what doses you used to take, and what your plan is to come off them - if you have a plan.

Then I'll be in a better position to assist you,

But, as I said, never go cold turkey from zopiclone. If that's what you've done, please start taking them again until we've had a chance to discuss this.

\I'm a nurse, was on all kinds of sleeping pills for forty years, and am now tapering slowly off. But I'll tell you more about that when I get your response. love Tess

Thanks for that tess been on 7.5s for 2 years

Went to docs last week and told me to take half tablet every 3rd night which I'm doing but when I take the half God what a bad night I have

Oh, dear.

That is NOT the recommended way to come off zopiclone, Trevor.

I'm mad buay right now but I PROMISE I'll get back to you tomorrow.

For tonight, just take your normal dose, and put the tapering off to one side for a couple of days.

Don't panic look up the Ashton Method and you and I will have a chat tomorrow, ok?

Hi Trevor ..I was on 7.5mg.. why they dI dnt start me on 3.75mg I don't no.. my doctor told me to take 1/2 for 2weeks and il be fine there after.. I couldn't sleep on 3.75 so had to double back up.. I was away at the time so when I ran out ..I went to the Dr in Turkey .he said get my last prescription faxed through noway could he give it me it's like cocaine.. left me real puzzled that did, considering it knocks me out. Anyway got script he looked at it said no not having them you need to go the hospital and see a phyciatrist. .(in turkish) couldn't believe it. I still had 2 months to go in Turkey. I went a few nights of no sleep at all. Some nights feeling like I had no sleep because there was that much going on in my head. Sweats ..body inside shaking. I ended up drinking every night, that with my other med put me to sleep. I came back & now taking 3.75mg

I'm not surprised!

PM me if you want to come off them. Safely and without withdral effects. Google the Ashton Method.

Get back to me if yoou want, ok?
