Hiya fellow hippies..![]()
Had my TRHR last year Friday 5th October, and just had my TLHR 2 weeks back 20th September, all going well with both sides ![]()
Was at doctors yesterday to have dressing changed and staples out, nurse had a look and said nothing to do as there was no staples in
not sure what they use, she said it was a very clean and finished off job. How they go about fixing you all up then stuffing everything back in and sealing ya back up as clean as they do…
Can’t believe how fast this last year has gone, it’s been a tough year with the left hip giving in around Christmas and having to wait till September to get in and sorted, I was only in over the weekend for the left, was great to get home on the Monday and I must put a massive thanks to the Red Cross as the hospital got in touch and sorted my lift home with them, last year it was a nightmare taxi ride that ended costing us £30 this time Red Cross bed to back door service and looked after all the way for no charge,
I know where my charity funds will go this Christmas…
Anyway to all of you thinking of getting your hips sorted, don’t leave it get it finished and enjoy life again I’m just going one day at a time at mo, but I know my life will be there for me and my wife to enjoy now, all the best guys and keep safe and stay happy, that’s a good start…

I had dissolvable stitches. The surgeon asked me if I wanted staples or dissolvable. I had not got a clue so just said dissovable. I am glad I did as there was a girl next to me who had her clips out and said it was really nasty.
They probably used glue monkeypearl. When I had mine done, my surgeon used clips, a lady had hers done the same day by a different surgeon who used glue, movement was much better.
Hi, Yep that sounds like it could be, the other hip was finished off just as good last October, had no problems with that at all…![]()
It’s fantastic these days what they can do..![]()
Stay Safe & Stay Happy
Pete..
Did you find things went better with the second operation due to knowing what to expect?
Hi Pete, pleased its all going well for you! (I had glue and dissolvable stitches, with a clear piece of plastic over the top. I liked the plastic, I could see how it looked, quite reassuring!)
Wishing you all the best, Judith
