So my partner has had a light yellow vaginal discharge with itching for 2.5 months. She seems unconcerned and hasn't been to the doctor to have it looked at. She told me initially that it was just a yeast infection, then said it was just a bacterial infection. She doesn't seem concerned about it at all.
Since I have a real issue with worrying about things (health anxiety). I went to the doctor and was tested for all gon, clam, and trich. All came back negative. Then I see that it's hard to detect trich in men. I got the test done again. All negative again. I had the trich vag by NAA test done, using male urine.
I do have reason to believe I was exposed to STDs prior to being with my partner who has the current discharge. However that person has stated they had tests done and are clean. Could my tests be "false negative" both times. I read conflicting information on testing men with urine. CDC suggests using the same test I had, but also sites a study that says it's only 39% accurate in men. But I also found a study that shows the test is 99% accurate in men.
Anyone with any experience. Can I trust the test I had? Does my partner just have BV?
