Tripped

I have managed to fall off the smallest kerb and hit the floor. Came out of tourist info in Mdina, carefully negotiated huge step with no support, then fell down a two inch kerb. Landed on operated side, mainly on shoulder and hand. Was helped up by a fantastic mediaeval knight complete with sword from the Mdina history show who made me a cup of coffee. Hip intact, quite a few bruises, glad I asked physio the correct method to get up all those months ago! Feeling rather silly

Oh that must have give you worry at first, glad ll is ok with the hip.

What is the right way to get up?  Poor you hope all ok

I was told to get on knees, as if to crawl. Then get up holding onto something or, as in this case, someone

Thank you I will remember that

Glad to hear that all is well with your hip, Maggie. Must have been quite a scare for you.

It's not every day a medieval knight comes to the rescue!😊

So how do you get up on the knees when you have had a knee replacement and other knee has Arthrites,?

Pass to some extent, although a friend was told that they could kneel for a very short time with a knee replacement! I did not have to ask her that varient

A friend of mine who had had a double knee replacement got to her knees to give First Aid to someone who had blacked out.

If needs must...

Oh Maggie,

So dangerous, those small kerbs ........ and after negotiating a big one.

At least it's good news you knew how to get up, and are ok.

Graham - 🚀💃

Presumably with good leg foot on the ground?

So size does matter then - in this case the small ones are the most dangerous. So glad u have no major fall out though. Hope your man had shining armour.

its a lesson learnt though for all of us to take care when out and about. Sorry it was you Maggie that learnt the lesson the hard way.

Scary Magge. Glad you are ok though you may be aching tomorrow. I fell back in November didn't hurt hip but was very sore afterwards. The arthroscopy nurse told me that hip and knee patients have a perception problem as nerve Impulses don't travel through artificial joints and so we can fall without any obvious reason ( though the kerb was probably the reason you fell). Knowing that made me feel better as I was angry at myself for being so careless. Hope you don't suffe any after effects and enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Catrin

Yes and that is why I am so annoyed with myself..having managed to get on and off a small boat that was rocking on the waves, a walk in Valletta that seemed to include a building site on the back route to watch the carnival, the loo from hell with a side step to the top of the steps to go down and the wine crates stored at the bottom of the stairs, the Popeye village and the steep path along the top of the blue grotto I go and fall off a kerb!,

Yep.

Armour was very dull, sword scabbard was shinning. Still he did the job!

That's the important thing guess a knight in shining armour doesn't  HAVE shining armour. Glad u r ok

Oops should have been  HAVE to have

Glad u r ok x
