********I have two leg ulcers which will not heal. I bought some Permafoam dressings to try,but the instructions are in a foreign language. I have tried once putting the white foam side onto the ulcers and the dressing has stuck. Should I place the brown plasticy looking side onto the ulcer? Advice would be very much appreciated. Heather
Hi Heather, I have never heard of Permafoam, so the first thing I did was to ask Mr Google! In fact you can find the instructions just by Googling it.
Have you asked your GP, or your local Pharmacist? If you have leg ulcers that aren’t healing, that is serious & should be examined by someone who has experience in this field. How did you get them & how long have you had them? I would worry about diabetes. At least ask a Pharmacist if you can’t see your GP.
Personally, I use Tegaderm on lesions that take a long time to heal. It is a film that you apply & leave on until the lesion has healed but your local clinician will explain about it
Please go & see your local Pharmacist or GP
Thankyou for your reply ,I have looked on the internet but I will have another look on google now.I am diabetic and have had one leg amputated ,so rather than go through that again I thought I would try to just keep infection at bay, but if they get worse I will go to see a doctor.I am lucky as apart from leg problems I am ok and manage well doing jobs etc in my power chair.Good luck to you tooa as you must have problems too Heather
