I have wanted to get off this medication for awhile. It works, sort of for my high blood pressure, however, I've had at least 3 problems since I began taking it, probably two years ago. I have gained about 20 lbs. plus noticing losing hair, and recently my blood tests shoe an increase in liver enzymes. Have never had any problem and am wondering if this med could be the culprit?
I know when I went on blood pressure medication I too put on weight. I think what happened where I am concerned is that the tablets seemed to relax me which in turn stimulated my appetite. I would definitely speak to your doctor about changing your medication as it's obviously got some serious side effects.
I'm careful with my diet especially since my gallbladder was removed. I drink water with fresh lemon squeezed into it as I feel this helps liver function and other things generally. I also us raw virgin coconut oil as a moisturiser (everything you put onto your skin is absorbed into your blood stream) - coconut oil is a very healthy and nutritious oil. I also use Himalayan salt which contains over 80 elements found in the body (as opposed to about 4 found in natural sea salt). Look at what you eat, and what you put onto your body and drink plenty of water.
With best wishes.
