This informative series is back on BBC2 on Wednesdays. There was a lot of interesting bits in this weeks that you can catch up on with iPlayer.
They had a healthier way to cook pasta for diabetics.
Tests on the best way to keep vitamin D levels up.
How UV rays can lower BP and are all saturated fats really bad for you.
Of course as always there are two sides to a coin.
Hi Derek, yes I watched that programme, very interesting snippets I never knew, especially about Pasta and cooking with Coconut oil, I have just started doing this on a tip from a friend who said it was good for you!
Thxs for the info, never knew the program was on. It will be interesting I know that.
Many thanks. I hope that too.
I too saw it and found it fascinating. I was interested in all of it but particulalry in the acupuncture bit. One of my, now retired GPs, gave me acupuncture on my tennis elbow and the relief lasted for years. I have since had the occasional steroid injection, which has done nothing.
I happened to be seeing my current GP and mentioned this programme and the fact that it said that acupuncture is now accepted by mainstream docs. He said that it was the Physios who did it and would I like him to refer me, tthough he couldn't guarantee that they would do it on me but, I said 'yes please'!
Whilst I trust my doctors and conventional practitioners, I wouldn't trust a non 'medical' person.
Thanks for the tail end qualification. It gave me a smile. My feeling exactly.
My wife had acupuncture in the 80's for a painful shoulder and again about ten years ago for a painful hip. It helped each time.
It can go wrong as can any other treatment. Andrew Lloyd Webber had it for a back problem and it caused damage that he then needed surgery for and he is still in pain.
As I recall they were not in favour of coconut oil.
I must whizz through it again as there was a lot to take in.
Is Bognor the sunniest place in Britain? I live in Eastbourne and we maintain that we are though Hastings refutes that
