Hi folks...I sure hope someone is reading this as I'm feeling somewhat invisible right now!
I had joked before that at some point I felt I'd crossed over into the Twilight zone....I didn't realize how prolific I was!! I REALLY feel in the zone right now, or at the very least, lost in cyber space!
I'm struggling BIG TIME right now and till now didn't realize just how important you all have become to me!
If anyone out there could help me reconnect, please let me know and I'll keep fingers crossed (if they're not too stiff) that my notifications resume!
Calm down - no-one loves me enough to send me notificaitons either. It will be a bug and if no-one gets notifications of apost they won't reply either.
Hi Lynda, this PMR journey is a lonely journey, you look normal, people just do not understand, but hang in there, try to stay active, positive and smile it will help. You get through it! π
That's so true! I do look the ssme as always, ( maybe not moving quite the same ), but that does indeed make it hard for people to understand!
My oldest daughter wants me to go to a huge "pumpkin patch" (so fun) next week, and I can't quite get her to understand that as much as I'd love to do it, I just CAN'T! She says "mom you'll be fine, we'll walk slow and take our time"....ughhh...here comes the "guilts".
I had no posts for a while i thought everyone must be doing ok and lo and behold i have a multitude of posts all at once! If the effort of going to the 'pumpkin patch' causes you too much stress then don't go, but on the other hand it may be fun and take your mind off things for a while. As your daughter says just take your time. If you have one, take a fold up stool or chair with you to take a rest. Let us know how you got on if you decide to go and most certainly don't feel guilty if you can't make it...loads of good wishes your way have a good time if you go..ππ€
If you do go to the pumpkin patch when you look at those pumpkins imagine that's what my chops used to look like when on pred.....happy, kind thoughts..
There is hope that my moon face, with one red cheek will disappear eventually. π
My glasses are very tight, due to swollen cheeks, but at least they are not sliding down my nose anymore. ( something positive from the prednisone ...😂
On my holiday this spring one of the fellow participants in the tour had a very clever walking stick with a seat attached to it. She brought it everywhere so I assume it was very light. She was, incidentally, the woman who told me about the salt trick which has helped me so much.
give it a try. you can always go to the car for rest. stop keeping yourself from being a part of the community and isolating yourself....climb the mountain instead of being stopped by the mole hill. If you don't try you will wast away muscle tone will be gone and if you want to come back you will have much to build up again. Don't let yourself slip away by thinking I CAN'T...say instead I will and do your best. Think of the smile on your daughter's face and put one on yours too.
βYou cannot get an A if youβre afraid of getting an F.β (Quincy Jones) Live dangerously just hear your body and give it rest when required...I sometimes take two naps a day and fall asleep at TV in the evening...then go to bed andsleep like a log....I am currently with PMR GCA and at 25mg pred. Started 1.5 years ago at 100. There is hope as I know a few people who have been freed from PMR and GCA. Lets hope we a one of them. Keep the faith and get out to keep moving. All the best. Positive attitude will carry you far.
Lynda, we have to know our limits, I am a fine one to talk! I am always pushing myself too hard and paying for it. I have now hurt myself a tear in my left labrum. Go to a sports doctor this week. Be smarter than me don't over do it. We have to stay positive, active and try to smile, I most say this has not been one of my smartest moves.
I LOVE the direction I see this forum taking! HUMOR!!
It really (sometimes anyway) is a nice way of dealing with a "not so nice" disease.
It's been so great waking up this am and LAUGHING, even tho i have a splitting headache, Very stiff fingers, an aching shoulder, and horrible vision in one eye! What a hot mess!!
Thx guys....you've put me in the right frame of mind to tackle another day! π
Thank you for your lovely words of wisdom! I'll take them to heart!
Lol...funny fun fact 'bout my daughter. She's 42. Still likes to create memories with her mom! We've been doing this treck to the pumpkin patch since her and her sister were 5+7!!
I think it would be a riot if we met up...perhaps it's a case of 'Never the twain should meet'..haha!π€π..no, joking aside yes i suspect we would be great friends as it seems we understand each other. As we are both the other side if the pond we'll have to keep in touch on the forum as i hate flying! π£ hope you get your seat/chair from thrift store..ciao for now...good, kind and happy thoughts your way...
