twitches, tremors and other symptoms...

Hi, Does anyone have tremors, twitches, sensory symptoms and fasciliations? Does benign fasciliation syndrome mean anything to any of you? The ratcheting movement really scare me.

My anxiety also stops me sleeping. Has anyone got any tips to help insomnia?

Thanks.

Hi Ramona it's likely that all of your symptoms are caused by stress and anxiety I've had some of them in the past. Magnesium supplement is good for easing twitches I also take vitamin b supplement.

sleep wise what really helped me was 'the effortless sleep method' a book by Sasha Stephens it's good for understanding and dealing with insomnia.

apart from that have you seen your GP for anxiety medication?

Hi David,

Thanks for your reply. I have used magnesium on and off but need to be more committed by using it on a daily basis. I'm going to look into vitamin B now.

Thanks for the book recommendation.

My health anxiety manifests itself as an avoidance of GPs and medics in general.

I would try anti-depressants but I'm worried about how it will affect my working life. If I'm up and down at home then I can tolerate that but at work I am involved in chairing important meetings and giving talks, and I can't risk being thrown off balance. What has helped tremendously is only having one coffee a day and also other strategies that were recommended to me by a clinical psychologist that I went to see a while ago.

Thanks again for responding.

Hi Ramona yes try the vitamin supplements they should help. You know the root cause of the anxiety which is good but your GP should be able to help and might prescribe a low dosage anti-depressant which shouldn't throw you off balance too much. Plus in the early stages you could ask for a low dosage of a relaxant like diazepam. Definitely read the book it's written by someone who knows it inside out from experience it's probably the best advice for sleep issues.
