Hi, hope you are all well. For about 6 months now i have had twitches in my legs, arms, eyelids, chest.. basically you name it i twitch there. I went to the doctors and told its probably anxiety related and sent on my way. anyway 6 months later, 6 months of twitching every day. My fear is its more serious than this, a quick google search with this symptom brings up the horrid 3 letters of ALS. Basically what i want to know is does anyone else suffer with twitches like me and as regular as me thanks for any reply Stephen
ALS you would twitch in 1 place for example just 1 hand.
All over your body is anxiety for sure, it fires your nerves which makes you twitch…annoying but nothing to worry about.
I get twitching in my legs (thigh and knee mainly) and have had in abdomen (rare). My naturopath and endocrinologist both agreed that magnesium is the solution to that so I started drinking one packet of magnesium a day and the twitching stops. If I stop the magnesium (which I often do cause it tastes terrible) the twitching eventually returns. Endo said that magnesium is good for muscle twitching and cramps. Not saying you should take it, just mentioning it as something that worked for me and possibly you could look into it.
yes, they are absolutely harmless. I started getting them in my 20s when I had severe anxiety and stress. I am now in my early 60s and still hear! Every now and then I might get a couple but I basically ignore them and they go away. Please don’t Google and scary yourself. Twitches are common even in athletes with how they use their muscles.
i’m going to assume you are pretty young. Diseases like a ALS rarely if ever happened in anybody your age. You would have other symptoms also. So please relax about this.
The more you worry, the more twitching you will have. I got them in my eyelids arms legs and just all over. Along with other symptoms of stress and anxiety. Is long is you get your yearly check up by your doctor you are good to go!
Do some D stressing. Listen to some great meditations on YouTube for anxiety and overthinking. There are hundreds to choose from! And they have helped me a lot! get some exercise and eat healthy and stay hydrated.

Thanks for your reply
anxiety has a way of creating negative thoughts . I know exactly what you’re talking about.
its Overthinking. Fear has a way of controlling your thoughts, but u dont have to allow it to.
i did that my entire life and all it did was increase the anxiety and make me miserable.
you have to keep busy and occupy your mind with other things.
i found it helpful to do things for other people. it took the focus off my worries.
also great audios on negative thoughts, fear, etc on you tube!
