hi i am now on day 14 of 20mg of cit and to be honest the mornings are dreadfull , i wake every morning feeling sick headache and sweating this last all morning and i feel so tired aswell , i have a overwelming feeling of being fed up with everything ,even though i make my self go to work and occupy my self as much as possible , in general feeling unwell takes up most of my day . i take my medication 20mg in the morning would it be better to take it at night maybe it might stop the side effects being so bad in the morning , does anyone find taking it in the evening better , any feed back would be great , i hope it starts to kick in soon as i need that boost to help me feel that bit better
I'm feeling exactly the same I upped to 20mg 8 days ago. I was on 10mg for 3 months previously. Always take mine in a morning. The GP just told me to give it time.
Hi I've been on 20mg for a couple of months and I felt exactly the same. It was a massive effort to get through the day and couldn't wait till bed time. The feeling did pass after a couple of weeks and did seem to start working 5-6 weeks! My anxiety was awful. It's calmed down a lot. I take mine in the evening and I seemed to sleep ok, but a lot of people on cit seem to suffer with insomnia. All I can say is hang in there one day at a time and I can assure u it will get better
hi amy , i hope you feel the benifits soon , i just keep hoping that tomorrow the side effects will be a little bit easier , i know i have got to give it time i just hope its all worth it , take care
Hi Polly yes I sleep prettywell on cita also well I wake 2-3 times however feel I have slept well. i'm 7 weeks in and feel good only get tremors which are a pain! Terry hang in there you are fast apporaching the end of the tunnel side effects should be passing soon. Take care guys!!
thanks for your reply polly , what dosage are you on if you dont mind me asking , i hear good things about cit but at the moment i am not seeing any changes , was on 10mg for 2 weeks now on 20mg for two weeks
I have been on 20mg for 4 months and take them in the AM. A few minor side effects but worth the positive outlook on life. There is no "free lunch"
It's really hard to see the light but you will get there. I was convinced they were not working. I was writing on forums exactly what your doing now.
Hi Terry
You will feel like this for a few weeks, but the side effects will wear off in time. It often takes around 3-4 months for the meds to kick in, and you should continue to improve in the months following too.
During your recovery time your mood will be up and down - one day up, the next down ...... some weeks up and some down, but slowly the good time will increase over time.
SSRI's are no quick fix unfortunately, but it is so worth persevering. Try and be patient and just continue, knowing that the medicine is working in the background and building up in your body.
Many people on this site have been through all the waiting and come out the other side :-)

Morning Terry,
I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling dreadfull. It is definitely the medicaton getting into your system. Like you I go to work everyday and wish I could afford to take the time off work and let the meds do their job in the comfort of my own home. I'm nearly on my 5th week after being on 10mg for a week, 20mg for another 3 weeks and now on 30mg. With each uppage, I get the side affect, constantly sweating and no sleep. It will get better, like eveyone says give it time, even though that hard as each hour feels like a day when you feel lke this. I hope your day gets on a better today and feel free to message me xx
Hi Terry.....I am restating 20mg cita for the umpteenth time in 20 yrs after an accident/panic attacks etc. I don't remember the headaches, neck pain and sleeplessness but they are fierce. GP said 2 weeks before benefits kick in so perservere. I know from experience it does work so hang in there. Take care. It also helps to know you are not alone.
thanks for your reply it is good to know another people have or are going through what i am and that i am not going mad ,as i say the side effects are horrible and weeks often feel like months but i must take 1 day at a time fingers crossed that the med works ,
