I've heard others mention a PMR group from the UK that is supposed to be an awesome group.
Can someone give me the link to that group or the name of the group?

You have found it - this is the "AWSOME" group !
You may be referring to the other awesome group which is found on healthunlocked.
PMRGCAuk
You will find links to the organization and their forum here:

Apart from the fact that, as Dave says, THIS is an awesome group, you will find links to the two other forums in the post to which the above link takes you. This group here is the original one and where 5 ladies met and got together to found the PMRGCAUK charities.
The NE of England group forum, on myfunforum and the second to be grounded in the UK, is very small at present as there were server issues and we had to relocate, losing many members in the process. The youngest forum is the one at HealthUnlocked which is probably the busiest at present. It is rather confusin in its format I feel.
Each of the 3 forums is very different in nature - but I think they are all pretty awesome given 10 years ago there wasn't much support available at all - just this one and no charities or real live support groups.
Well I found this website actually and they charge to be a member and it's in Lyra.
So it would have to be a really good website for me to pay for it and I don't even know how to
pay for something in Lyra. Maybe I misunderstood something and you don't have to join to participate
But if that's the case I sure couldn't figure it out. I'm going to go back to the site and check it out again.
Thank you Eileen.
Anhaga and Eileen I am a little confused now. Eileen I left you a message
above which says something about having gone to that website and it asking f
or membership. And I got yours mixed up with something Anhaga said about
Healthunlocked. That's where I went and they wanted membership dues.
So at this point I'm just going to follow your link to the list of hyperlinks and
do some exploring. Thank you both for your help
What are Lyra? You aren't mistaking the £ sign are you? That is pounds sterling, the UK currency.
None of the sites i've given you links for ask for membership dues to be able to use them. You can join the PMRGCAUK charity group as a member which gives you a joining pack with information and stuff - but you can use the site without doing that. You can also join the national PMRGCA charity. Running these sites doesn't just happen, and there are costs associated with it - that's why you can join as a member as a sort of donation. The forums are all free for the signing up - just like this one.
Lyra as in the currency. But it's pound, my mistake. But I think I had the wrong website anyway because I I think I found the one you're talking about or at least one of the ones on that page you sent me to. But this one only has 58 members I think it was. Which seems awful small. But I could join for free. And I went to the board where people post and saw some of the postings. So I think that'll be a good one and I'll continue on some of the others that are on that link you sent me. Thank you for all your help.
That's the NE one - which I explained: there was a serious server problem and everything got lost! We had to start over. Yes it is small - but is growing again. It's a very peaceful one and the people who are there are long established PMR/GCA-ers
There are only 3 PMRGCA forums, all of them are free to join - and some of us are on all of them so you may get the same pains in the neck
There hasn't been a lira currency in Italy since 1999. Turkey still calls their currency lira - but don't have much PMR there as far as I know!
There are no membership dues. Did you find the link on the front page of this forum? I posted it on this thread. I'll private messgae you the link Patient lists there. You may have been trying to sign up to HealthUnlocked in a different kind of way. There's no charge to sign up to the chat forums.
thanks I got it and found the site. It is not the one I had found before. Who knows where I was? lol
