I will like to no what people noticed before being diagnosed with uc was it pain in the stomach or blood first then pain

I'd also had pain on and off for years but thought that was due to the gastritis

Hi jason29304 frequent trips to the loo then passed blood in stool, ignored. Symptoms got worst with urgency, & blood. Then at height of first flare severe pain all in back just like childbirth & filled up toilet bowl with blood. This was because I didn't got to the doctor & it was really stupid of me. I don't recommend anyone ignore blood or pain. Get checked ,everyone different with ibd

I suffer from proximal constipation and UC.

I began to notice that I was becoming extremely constipated where I was unable to pass anything for about a week or so, and then finally I would empty out in one go!  This happened regularly but I just assumed this was quite normal and I had one of those bowels that was a bit sluggish.  I only had really pain when a week had lapsed and no stool passed.

After about a year, I started to pass a little blood and again just assumed this may be piles or the like.  This went on for about 6 months, where I was still becoming constipated but all of a sudden I started to pass blood clots and it was then I decided to see mt doctor.

She was concerned and referred me for an urgent colonscopy where I was diagnosed with the UC.

So, for me, it was more my change in bowel habits before pain and blood loss.

Is the blood in poop on and off like 3 or 4 times a month or every day

Hi Jason,my cramps and blood on toilet paper started at the same time,then urgency,never had diarrhoea! Xx

Hi, mine started with blood in toilet and then mucus- not had much in the way of pain or diareah... I find wind to be a problem and some urgency but not often and I don't really go more than twice a day either..
