Recently had an ultrasound scan which showed a gallstone near bile duct on right side. I feel like I am in constant excruciating pain in the mid to left side of my stomach (which seems to be worse at night and keeps me awake) my upper back aches and I have constant nausea, it feels like a tight band around my chest also having trouble with breathing. Feeling really lost here as to what to do and wonder if I can get through life on a daily basis as so scared something terrible is going on in my chest/stomach. I'm waiting to see the GP again to go through the results, but the appt is in 2 weeks time, feel like I can't carry on like this much longer. Anyone else feel the same and can give me any advice please?
Ask for an emergency appointment at your doctors as you’re in so much pain. They can maybe give you better pain relief. The sooner you see them the sooner they can send referral to surgeons to get the gallbladder removed. Have you had bloods taken to make sure the pancreas isn’t involved? xx
Agree you need seeing quicker than 2 weeks. My uss showed a gb full of stones and then had mri scan to check no stones in ducts as they SD if there was there have to "fish" them out. I was an in patient with acute chole cystitis on antibiotics via drip and strong painkillers. But your symptoms are almost exactly the same as mine were . I suffered 3 days with it but then took myself to my local A&E where I was immediately admitted. Didn't see pt of seeing Gp etc as thought they'd just send me to hospital anyway. Certainly if your pain is worse I'd go to hospital. You'd then know either way what's happening. My pain was much worse lying down as well only really eased if stood up or was sick but quickly returned. Good luck .
Hi am in England no had a similar pain had high temperatures too called ambulance thought I was having heart attack 4 days in hospital on antibiotics it's a long story ! so shall just say get to your A and E don't wait for referral your health is in danger .I have. Stone in my gall bladder removal 2 weeks time then they said gall bladder will have to come out .watch what you eat no big meals 👌
hi, i was very similar to you, in the end i was rushed in to hospital, couldnt even walk,had a stone stuck,all gall bladder removed, was told in a very bad state,even tho ive always eaten healthy, after removal,at least the pain was gone,im still not right but much improved, if you have gb removed, you must take it easy,;;; all best,
Thanks everyone for your help and advice. I will definitely be going back to see the GP this week as I can't carry on like this, although you would think that if the ultrasound showed a gallstone at the bile duct as it did, and you had been back and forth for months in pain then the GP would want to see you and get you treated ASAP. Guess we just have to know our own bodies and keep going back until we get the help we need.

You would think that after months of going back and forth to see GP with stomach/chest pain, backache being unable to sleep and feeling constantly breathless and unwell that when they do find a gallstone near the bile duct it would raise a red flag and they would want to see you ASAP?!
Guess we just have to take care of ourselves and make a nuisance of ourselves until we get the help we need.
