I have to drink 32oz of water 1 hour before I get my pelvic exam, should I drink it all at once or throughout the hour before??

I have had a few ultrasounds now and I tend to drink half the water around an hour before then take the other half with me while I’m travelling there and drink it gradually up until the appointment. If I drank it all an hour before it would become too uncomfortable but I guess everyone is different. I have never been told my bladder wasn’t full enough so it works well for me doing it that way.

I would drink it all at once because if your bladder is not full they'll have you drink a lot of water and have u wait. So I just prefer to come with a full bladder so they can hurry up

And do the exam. Trust me you do not won't to sit for an hour or so drinking water🙄

Either way is fine. They just need your bladder to be VERY full when they do the ultrasound.

I had this same question when I had my first ultrasound - however, they said it doesn't matter how quick you drink it, as long as you start an hour before and do not empty your bladder until the ultrasound

I think I drunk a 75cl bottle of water gradually over the hour and I was fine to have my ultrasound
