After some words of encouragement to keep me going please. Started taking 25mg of Sertraline 22 days ago and am currently suffering with the insomnia and lack of quality sleep. Prior to taking this I have always slept well and am now having anxiety about not being able to sleep properly. My Dr had prescribed me a months worth of 7.5mg Mirtazapine to help with the sleeplessness but this isn’t helping either.
Just after some words of advice and encouragement to stick with it and that it will get better as I really feel like just stopping the Sertraline as I miss my sleep so much.
Hey! I feel your pain. Have been on Sertraline on and off for over 4 years and really know how it can mess up your sleep. Good news is that it gets better as weeks go by. Every time when I upped my dose sleep would be impaired at around 3-4 week mark. Crazy vivid dreams (which I actually enjoyed), waking up every hour, feeling hot then cold etc. However, for me the important thing is to feel rested in the morning. Even with such disturbed nights I could still function during the day. You simply get used to sleep being all over the place and then at some point realise it is gradually getting better. So hang on in there and things will improve. This medication takes really long time to work, but once it kicks in you will get your quality of life back. P.S. I take Magnesium Glycinate, Glycine and L-thianine before bed. All 3 are scientifically proven to aid sleep and work best when combined. Can get them on Amazon.
