I am 29 years old, eight months back i had an incident of heart palpitation(doctor said it was palpitations), my ECG that was done next day was fine, Bp was 140/90. Since then i am having a needle like pricking sensation around heart region (sternum to be more particular), sometimes it feels like itching from inside.... its not all the time but whenever i do even something little stressfull both physically and mentally it comes back. I checked with doctors, ECG was fine, there is no pain anywhere else so they could not tell what it is...
Is it possible that because of that palpitation there maybe some internal damage to some vessel or organ ? what test i can take to confirm the same ?
Hello Ravi. I wouldnt worry about this if I were you. Your doctors would have ordered other tests, eg, echo cardiogram etc. if there was cause for alarm. Palpitations do not cause damage to a healthy heart and if you had internal damage to vessels or organs the symptoms would have been very obvious to your doctor and he wouldnt have ignored it. This may just disappear in time but try to accepts your doctors reassurance, I'm sure you will be fine.
Thanks Bess, actually initially i thought it will go in sometime and the sensations have indeed decreased but not gone fully. I want to be sure that i am not ignoring something which should not be ignored, if someone else had similar experience then i could save all the worries and tests which are not going to be useful for me .. anyways going to check with senior cardiologist soon, lets see what he says.. will keep posted and yeah... no worries .
