hi, i was diagnosed about 5 years ago with under active thyroid. apparently i had been walking about with this for 5 years before being diagnosed. so 10 years in total. i was falling asleep 5 times a day, chest pains ,freezing cold, skin like cold hard rubber, stiff muscles, broken nails and hair like a horses tail.i was called back to the docs after a blood test and told i was so near a heart attack.i came out smiling once i had my thyroxine (to the docs surprise), i thought a course of tablets and it was all gone, little did i know that it was a life time illness.anyway i since found out 5 other family members had under active also and 1 over active.my son who i was pregnant with, later went on to have a thyroid operation as he had a thyroglossal cyst(i think i spelt that right), his thyroid and toungue were joined by a tract, and he couldnt lift his head.he still worries me, he may have a few over active symptoms, although he has been checked. any way i have been to a specialist and my doc many times as i still feel very run down, and am in a lot of pain, with burning feet sydrome ,which is linked to under active thyroid.does any one else have this?
i also have arthritis, vertiligo, and nerve damage.and am in constant pain, i gave up on my doctor years ago as he says im just depressed, and once even called in the receptionist as i was crying with frustration and he told her i was depressed. i no longer go to him unless i really have to, and spend my days in constant pain and tears,it my 2 children i feel sorry for, as they must be so fed up with me.does anyone else have this burning feet syndrome?please reply im in agony
