I've just joined these boards but I've recently been diagnosed with autoimmune hypothyroidism and I'm also on 50mg a day. I'm still feeling awful, had my bloods done this week and I'm going back Monday in the hope of getting an increase.

I'm getting that fluttering in my throat. It's awful. It's almost like a twitch or a heartbeat in the throat and it keeps catching me off guard.

Would be interesting to know if this is usual.

Hi battenberg

those flutters in your throat I have had them everyday for 5 months I also get them in the chest sometimes they caused palpatations I went in hospital for a week they couldnt find nothing which caused my anxiety cause I felt so ill I was so convinced it was somet to do with my thyroid but my bloods were always ok I had a heart monitor fitted for 24 hrs and it picked up some eptopic beats so I was even more anxious went to see me heart specialist and I explained about these flutters in neck he said they are eptopic beats so on monday I have another heart monitor fitted for 1 month this time to see if these flutters are picked up again but he assured me they are harmless and every one has them

These are completely normal and all part and parcel of having a thyroid problem. Once you learn that it is nothing to be worried about it's much easier to ignore them and get on with life. Hope everything goes okay smile
