undiagnosed dizziness which in turn causes panic

Hi everyone

I've never been on any forum and posted before but I feel as though I have to for some kind of comfort!

I've been suffering with dizziness since may this year, a feeling which I find extremely difficult to describe but I will try...

Morning, midday and evening is when I mainly have these dizzy spells (sometimes constant) where I feel like there is a fog surrounding my head and I can't see things as clearly and focus on anything as I would normally, the dizziness is like the room is spinning and my head is falling when In fact it's still.

More recently I have been getting the sensation of feeling like I'm on a boat and the main way I can describe my head is like when your in an elevator or you just get out.

Then panic sets in which makes me feel dizzier ( so I keep telling myself) and I get palpitations and feel as though I'm going to pass out. I get clammy hands and a feeling of where my head is red hot.

I keep telling myself that panic makes it worse although I cannot control the panic at all. I am so scared of the dizzy sensation that I feel like I must be dying!

I have been to the doctors and was referred for an MRI which came back normal, I have now been referred to the ENT IN 4 weeks time, this can't come quick enough.

I'm in Mexico at the moment and my symptoms feel like they have worsened since being here, I'm not sure if it's because I'm panicking or not but I am extremely scared all the time.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Joanne

Try and take deep breaths have you seen an entire specialist ? I've suffered constant for 3yrs so I know what you are going through x

Joanne, I'm glad you're having all the necessary medical tests to rule out possible pathologies. That's very important. However, I have to say your symptoms would tie in with panic attacks.

Sounds like BPPV or some other inner ear issue to me.  Google the half-somersault manuver and you can do that yourself in the time before you see the ENT.  I usally have to do that about 4 times about 30 minutes apart.

I Am hoping that the ENT can diagnose something so I don't feel as though I am crazy, I'm from the uk and all referrals seem to take ages so it's like a long waiting game. I will google that see if this helps. Thanks for you advice

I know it worsens with panic but before the panic happened the dizziness started, it's like one big cycle and being away from home and feeling like this makes it so much worse for me.

I'm from the UK so it's a waiting game to see anybody I have to get referrals so I will see what the ENT has to say. If they can't find anything I will have to be referred to see a neurologist. Just have to go through the motions beforehand unfortunately. Have you had any diagnosis as to what it could be or are you just living with this horrible feeling?

Certainly help me and it's something I'm able to do at home. When you Google it be sure you follow the timing requirements for each step and do it correctly. Again you may have to repeat it several times but you should feel better that evening or the next day. It certainly wouldn't hurt you to do that before you go.

I will definitely try it, it can't hurt surely.

I'm willing to try anything at the minute. I appreciate you helping me, thank you!

The video will also explain why this is happening so maybe you'll feel less anxious. Please let me know how this turns out.

i know how it feels and its hard, you will start to panic when the dizziness starts and i have been facing this issue also
