Undiagnosed... process of elimination?

Hi

I posted earlier but lost the post.. also have updates.

31 yr old female.. fit, non smoker non drinker.

I have had this weird upper abdominal pain for some time now. It started off a sharp muscular injury during a cough a yr ago...on the left side under my rib (turned around and it hit me) Pain was so strong i couldnt breathe. Took anti-inflammatories, got better. Reinjured during ab work outs. Took antis again, got better. Last reinjury was in july this yr in a pool.

Anyway about 2 months ago i started getting dull pain under left and right rib. Aggrevated by movements and heavy lifting.

I did a whole bunch of tests:

Full blood tests (x2)

Ultrasounds (x2)

Xray

Stool test

Urine test

MRI

And nothing. I was about to do an endoscopy but have just found out im pregnant so i cant.

I have no other symptoms. This doesnt seem to be aggrivated by food or drinking. For an example i felt the discomfort laying on my sytomach. I got pain middle stomach and near ribs till i changed position. Pain lasted 5 min and then gone.

I have some muscle pain in my upper back shoulders from my bag and crappy posture.

I dont know if these stomach issues are muscular or what.

What are peoples thoughts?

PS no low grade fever.

How long have you had the pain?  Did you tell your doctor about the muscle injuries?  Do you have any bowel symptoms such as constipation, diarrhoea/loose stools or nausea?  Does the pain improve with a bowel movement?  If so, you may have IBS.

Was gastritis, and h pylori ruled out?

Hi pippa

I have no other symptoms... stool and bowel symptoms are normal.

Pain is not related or linked to food

Poly h and gastritis werent ruled out entirely as i cannot have the endoscopy... but stool test came back fine and i have no low grade fever.

The next step would be to ask your doctor about whether your pain could be caused by a muscle injury.
