I have the same problem and still no answer. Mine has been going on 5 months everyday worse when I move my eyes.
did your eye pain go away? Did you find out the cause. I am on the same road as you going on 5 months..
No. Went to few more doctors and still no one knows what I have. Were did you go and what tests did you do till now?
Started out in ER had blood work CT scan eye exam everything ok. Went to two ophthalmologist. Did all the usual eye tests another blood test nothing. 2nd ophthalmologist wanted MRI but have a pacemaker. He is reviewing the CT scan and if they didn't check all areas involving the eyes he is going to order another CT scan first. If need be pacemaker can be removed for MRI. Have an appt. with neurologist in 2 1/2 weeks. Just wish this would go away.
1) Your pain is located behind the eye?
2) The pain is in both eyes?
3) Do you know why and when it started?
4) Do you have other symptoms besides the eye pain?
Can they switch your pacemaker off for the MRI?
Feels like it is in the eye. Hurts most when I move the eye far up down left or right. It is just in my right eye. It started suddenly that's why I went to ER. It started 18 weeks ago. I have no other symptoms besides the eye pain.
No mine is an older pacemaker but it's not just turning the pacemaker off they can do that. It's the leads on the pacemaker that have the risk of heating up and damaging heart tissue. Cardiologist said they used to do MRI on these pacemakers but now because the newer pacemakers are MRI compatible there get into legal issues if they do an MRI on non-compatible pacemaker and something should happen to go wrong. So he said if necessary he would remove the pacemaker and replace it with an MRI compatible pacemaker. Hope it doesn't come to this.
Moving forward no answer yet. Opthalmologist is sending me to an eye doctor who specializes in the orbit of the eye. If no results doing a second CT scan. First one only covered the brain. If I get any answers will post. This is very frustrating and nerve wracking.
Just an update orbit of the eye looks good also. Neurologist on Tuesday. Opthalmologist are leaning toward in not being anything serious. Did make the remark isn't the 1st time we could find a cause and it won't be the last. They don't think the neurologist will come up with anything but another opinion doesn't hurt. Nisan did yours go away yet?
Finally found out what was going on Neurologist sent me to Flaum eye Center in Rochester. Saw a neuro-opthamalogist The eye lid on my eye was loose causing the tears to run out and leaving the eye dry . With a very minor surgery he said he could make a cut in the corner of my eye and tighen the eye lid. Dry eye was ruled out at first mainly because it is usually a problem with both eyes and has nothing to do with the eye lid.

hi I’ve been suffering with constant eye pain for 7 months now in my left eye only, it started when I got my new prescription of glasses, a new frame too, my eye has been straining the whole time and has been getting very dry and red, it sounds like the same problem, I’ve been everywhere and no one can find out what it is, drops dont help and neither do warm or cold compresses, they say my eye is healthy but why is it getting g worse and worse, my sinuses also hurt but they checked them and it is fine , any suggestions?
Just the same here, constant pain and no answers from the ophthalmologists. Did any of you got some help or hint, or was able to solve it? Thank you very much
Hi nisan10766. Hopefully you were finally formally diagnosed and are pain free, but just in case you were not I thought I’d drop a note. I had daily on-and-off pain behind my right eye as well. I saw 2 different ophthalmologists and even had injections. Neither could provide an answer and the injections were pointless. The only relief I was able to find came from 600mg of Motrin that I could take daily as needed, but sometimes I would just endure the pain as I didn’t want to rely on a pill. I can attest it’s highly stressful to have pain and to continue to be told your eyes are fine. I’m 36-years old and my vision is perfect. This pain went on for a year and a half.
Several days ago I returned to the gym after a VERY long hiatus. Probably a couple years. After a few days I suddenly realized my eye pain all but disappeared. I have had maybe one or two little pain jolts but it’s gone just as fast as it started.
I messaged my primary ophthalmologist and passed along the tip, “prescribe exercise if all else fails”. She has no idea why exercise is helping my eye, but let’s just say I’m gonna not think too much into it and be grateful that I am mostly pain free. All it took was working out 1 hour a day a few days a week.
hey how is your pain now
