Unexplained Pain in Feet

In the recent years my feet have abnormally high pain from walking and standing.  In the last year, it has been so severe that I can't walk or stand for more than about 10 minutes at a time.  I literally have to sit down on the ground wherever I am.

Starting May 2016 I started getting random shocking sensations in both my feet.  It seems to be exacerbated by periods of "long" walking/standing throughout the day or week (say when traveling, airports, walking around in a museum, etc).  Even if I take regular breaks, the shocking sensation is very intense.

This shocking sensation occurs even while at rest and during days/weeks when I have little to no activity on my feet.  It just seems to get worse with a lot of activity.

The shocking sensations can be quite intense and very painful!  They seem to be at random times.  Maybe 1 or 2 shocks every 5 to 10 minutes (more frequently when exacerbated).  It can often become difficult to fall asleep, but they don't seem to wake me while sleeping.

I've seen a neurologist who gave me a nerve test, which lead to no helpful diagnosis.  I've spoken with several foot specialists.  Nobody has given me any helpful information.  They have all just said they don't know what it is.

I've tried using Gabapentin 100mg daily for about a week and the pain increased.

I've decided to broaden my reach to find other alternatives for finding a diagnosis, or at least some relief.  I've been unable to exercise for the last 6 months because just walking/standing at a gym is beyond bearble - and one can only ride a stationary bike for so many days straight before they go insane.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Could you be diabetic by any chance

We just checked for pre-diabetes this month.  No problems.  Healthy blood pressure.  Slightly elevated triglyceride levels, which "can be easily managed with a bit of exercise".  grrr
