Unknown cause of abdominal issues and pain since gallbladder removal

I had my GB removed January 2020. I had one small stone, sludge, and an inflamed GB. I was great for 3 mon after removal. Prior to removal I had attacks of nausea and a deep aching pain in the upper stomach and urq for about 2 years on and off before they figured it was my GB causing said issues. Now I have been dealing with mild pain in the urq, mild nausea, and pain in the back between the shoulder blades that seems to be getting gradually and continuously worse as time goes. About 10 months ago I had blood tests, stool tests, x rays, scans and everything returned normal. Now it is feeling slightly worse and have another appointment for testing and GI doctor, but I think that everything will come back normal again. Which I hope it does, but as you all know, I want some answers and a remedy to this. It’s exhausting never feeling great. I have gone low fat and it changes nothing. The time I feel best is when I wake up and have an empty stomach. Once I put anything in my stomach, I feel slightly unwell all day until the next morning. I have worked with a functional medicine practitioner who thought I needed help with digestion and that really had no affect. I am most concerned about this pain between my shoulder blades that it could indicate something more serious. It’s not severe, but noticeable for sure and accompanied by the nausea and urq. So I have more testing coming up so hopefully at the very least I can rule out anything serious.

I am having similar issues and I had my gallbladder removed in October of 2020. I get pain in my lower, right side right beneath my rib cage. It even hurts when i press on it. Iv read into it and I read a few things that the liver has a hard time breaking down fat and bile once your gallbladder is removed, so some suggested teas that aid in digestion and liver detoxing. I drink green tea and dandelion root tea and I feel like it helps. My biggest concern is the pain when pressing on it, I hear that sphincter of oddi dysfunction can become an issue with gallbladder removal but a GI straight up told me often times surgery treatment of those make it worse. So, what we are supposed to just deal with this damn pain? I too only had sludge in my gallbladder and I am starting to wonder if I needed my gallbladder out. I had a similar attack I was having prior to getting my gallbladder removed, a few months ago. Which the hospital said “This is what is causing your attacks, we recommend your gallbladder be removed.” Not even taking the time to rule out anything else. Apparently tumors in your pancreas can cause similar attacks, as well as stomach ulcers. I am now being testing for ulcers and other things. I am so tired of it all. I hope you find answers.

Thank you for replying. Yes, it is a very frustrating thing that it is so difficult to get clearcut answers. I am having a ct scan this week just to rule out anything serious. I guess it’s step one of trying to figure this puzzle out. I hope you are able to figure out what is going on with you as well. I keep pushing doctors to figure it out because I don’t want to wait until something major happens.

Matt, how did you CT scan turn out?

the same based in regional Australia, it’s 12 months post op and life a battle.

My gallbladder failed when I went on health kick and lost 30 kgs in 6 months on exercise and diet shakes. sent then I put the weight on.

doctors have runs a few bloods and everything is okay, taking liver detox, ox bile, anti acid.

Also have alot of gas. wish I dealt with pain and tried to keep
