unsightly toe nails

Hi, I have chronic psoriasis of my toe nails as well as PA was wondering if anyone had any tips of how to make them look better so I can wear open toe sandles this summer. I am also in lots of pain due to PA of the toes which has also caused them to swell making the nail appear shrunken and detatched from nail bed in areas I have herd about a electric buffer from amazon that will smooth down the nails...has anyone tried such a thing? tia

Hi Shaz

I have used a buffer to even out the nails before it does work but they do come back again to be uneven with the ridges. If you do get one becareful when using it to long in one place the nail heats up and gets really hot.

Have you tried painting them?  It covers a multitude of things.

Hi shaz, ghastly aren't they? I've got a hoof on my big toe which is so gnarly, thick and ingrown that I'm having it and the nail bed removed in 2 weeks time. It will look strange a toe with no nail - I wonder if I can stick a 'falsie'💅 on? I've had the nail removed in the past, hoping it would re-grow normal. No such luck! I have tried using buffers etc but I'm wary of infection. It hurts so much anyways so I don't want to add to that. I used to apply glitter filled nail varnish to disguise the pitting (looks real pretty too, with sandals). However, the hoof is beyond disguise - in truth, it's the constant pain that has led to my decision. Paint your toes, girl and pray for sunshine! 🌞
