Unsure what this is? Simply some sort of rash from sex or (god forbid) herpes??

Last time I had sex was about a week ago. It was sore after sex - small cuts on the head of the penis. This sometimes happens so I ignored it and presumed it would heal like normal. However  a week along and they seem to have developed into sores/blisters on the head of the penis. I am scared it might be herpes or something but I dont seem to have any of the other sideeffects? It doesn't hurt unless I knock them or something.

I am in the middle of nowhere in France at the moment so can't see how I would have access to an STI clinic so nearest I can see a doctor would be around 10 days. Advice? Diagnosis? Help?

Hi Tom. Looks like it could be a YI yeast infection, try your local shop to see if they have some coconut oil unless you have some, and see how that goes, it love to fight YI's as its antifungal.

Hi Howhard. Thanks for the reply! I'll see if I can get hold of some of this coconut oil ASAP. Are you sure it's not herpes though? I'm still really paranoid that it might be - the sores/blisters look fairly similar to some I've seen on the internet! (fingers crossed that it isn't). Regardless thanks for the advice!

That looks like genital herpes. It’s in the lesion stage

Thanks for the reply. Ok that's not good at all. Do you have any advice on how I should proceed? As mentioned above, the earliest I can get to an STI Clinic is in around 9/10 days when I get back to the UK. Should I simply leave it alone or put sudocream on it or something? I'm really hoping it isn't herpes as I don't have any of the other sideeffects, but as you say it does look like it unfortunately.

Hi Tom Read on Please.

Have you tried using Sudocrem or a similar barrier cream? Not sure if it reduces the flare up at all, but it'll help make it less sore and stop it "chaffing" so much on anything or stinging. I wouldn't recommend using a traditional cold sore cream! I think a doctor or GUM clinic can also give you antiviral drugs to shorten and lessen the symptoms.

Coconut oil is a highly reliable natural option to treat and eliminate yeast infections, primarily through its antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties. Coconut oil can prevent the yeast infection from proliferating, deny it access to necessary sugars, speed the healing process, and strengthen the immune system.

Want to chose as its toss a coin time, for me its a YI, and for herpes you have no other symptoms.

Hi Howhard,

I haven't tried anything on it yet, however upon seeing a local French doctor today he seems to think its simply friction burn which has gotten bad due to the fact it started soon after I had intercourse last week (herpes symptoms normally takes around 5 days), that herpes lesions are painful (and mine are not) and the fact that he simply doesn't think that it looks like genital herpes.

I will try the cocunot oil - I see no harm in trying that. Thanks for all your help and replies!

Tom

Hi Tom, glad you found some good and wise help, funny place to get friction burns unless she was really dry.

You can either go to a ER or doctor and get meds.

You wont always have lesions. They take about 2 weeks to go away with meds and about 3 without.

Refrain from any sexual contact during your outbreak and always use condoms.

I was quiet devastated when I found out I had genital herpes. Mine were all over my anus and vagina and had just popped, extreamly painful to the point of here I couldn’t walk.

You only get outbreaks so often but right before you get one you’ll feel itchy or tingly on your penis, that’s when you need to start antibiotics

Did everything turn out okay ? was it herpes or friction burn ? Hope your okay

Why would you take antibiotics for herpes?
