Up date on us and steroid injection

Had US on neck and was found to have first grade cyst on thyroid, so they are not too concerned, but will keep their eye on them

went for injections on ands, surgeon said will do the worse hand first, right hand, as she said two hands done at the same time would put me out of action for longer.

i must say after a week it hurts more than before, my doctor said give it a month as the bone will be bruised.

also she said wait a month for the bum one to be done.

Suppose it is a start - but I hate it when my hands are sore :frowning:

Hope it all goes according to plan Margaret, and you find some relief pretty soon!

one consolation, HA doing cooking, more indegestion!

I’d starve! He’s limited to boiled and fried eggs, toast and chips…

LOL i have to stand next to hiso i can istruct, he does not know how to peel any veg at all, his mother has a lot to learn

Instruction in this house gets called nagging. What I find irritating is the criticism of how I do things - after nearly 50 years of doing them myself, I think I’ve found pretty good shortcuts/techniques…

Did you go to a Hand Doctor? My internist recommended I go to one for the intense pain I am having in my fingers. One friend recommended Yucca (OTC) which I’ve been trying for 2 wks so far, still have pain. I hope you begin to feel better. I’m wondering how long the injections are supposed to last. I need to make the call, it normally takes 3 months to get an appt. but this particular doctor is excellent.

A surgeon at chapell allerton did it, she said it could be permanant or only last three months. its only a week since i had it done, she did say i would still get pain for a while.

Thank you Margaret for your prompt reply. It does sound promising. I wish you continued healing. Finger pain is difficult since we use our fingers for almost everything.

I had the injection at the base of my thumb. this was because my thumb, and first two fingers and my wrist are the worst,

i would recommend having it done on my experience, i know we are all differejnt, and the pain from the injection was nothing compared to the pain i had in my hand.
if all oes well i will have my left hand done.

sorry about spelling

Thanks for more info! My right middle finger feels like it’s on fire. My left thumb is next worse, then generalized aching in hands and wrists. It comes and goes momentarily, and is extremely limiting. I can no longer successfully play my piano. I will call the hand MD. I hope you continue to feel less discomfort!
