Hi Janet and Eric
You need to make a nuisance of yourselves
See your Gp, contact your consultant'secretary and keep contacting them
If he is in such pain they need to do something to help you
Sadly things do not always move as quickly as we would like -it's the one's that shout the loudest I am afraid that get something done
Iam almost 4 weeks post op but probably would still have been waiting if I hadn't have pushed myself
Wishing you luck
Linda xx
The GP surgery should advise on the INR result, ring the surgery and speak to the duty doctor or nurse practioner, it is important. If Eric is monitored by the haematologist at the hospital, then get in touch with them.
the GP should also be able to review the pain medication that Eric is on, and will know what medications will not interfere with any other medicines he is on. I do not know about surgeries in your area but mine offer a same day service with the duty doctor for urgent cases and Eric I am sure comes into this category.
the GP should also be able to help make the hospital realise the urgency of his case. If you also keep on at the hospital as well it would also help
Hi Janet and Eric ... I agree with Maggie .. you need help - someone who can be your spokesperson and emphasize the urgency of Eric's situation ... how is your relationship with your GP ... what does he think about this ... has he seen Eric recently ? it sounds so vague - as if you are not be taken seriously ... can you go somewhere else ... did they tell you why he has to wait so long? doesn't sound right .... please get help - someone whom you trust and can be your spokesperson ...
thinking of you and wishing you strength -
big hug ... I wish I could help more ...

Hi Janet and Eric, I completely agree with what the others have said, of course you are very concerned, who wouldn't be?
Push push push and get someone to listen. Sometimes you have to take drastic action such as going to the Doctors and refusing to leave until someone listens to you and does something to sort the problem out.
If it was me I would send for the Doctor.
I wish I could help more.

Hi Janet
Is there any news on Eric's operation date?

It's outrageous that we have to get stroppy to get something done,
advise that you will be making a formal complaint - and be prepared to do so to the CEO of the hospital or Trust or whatever.
I was a Lay Chair of the NHS Complaints Board for 7 years, and the squeaky wheel really does get the oil. Shameful.
Good luck!
