Update and storytime :)

Well i thought id do a quick update story for all the newbies and anyone whose after a long read xD

Well I was born on the 7th of Feb 1996 (That makes me 20 years old now) in Sunderland hospital which is also the hospital I go to for my medical stuff.

3rd October 1996; Diognosed with congenital hip dysplasia

1997; 3 surgeries

1998; Removal of metal work operation and another seperate surgery

2001;3 surgeries

2004; surgery

2007;removal of growing plate in right knee

2008;Removal of growing plate in right knee

11th April 2016; Complex thr, hip lowering and muscle lengthening

I also forgot completely that before this surgery i had avascular necrosis, i only remembered when my physio mentioned it when she read my notes, mind you im sick of health care professionals saying 'my, your young for a hip replacement' you work in medcine, you should no life isnt simple xD

so iv got surgery on the 30th of June provided nothing goes wrong, i will be having my right collar bone snapped and pin and plated and a piece of myright hip will be removed and inserted in the collar bone. This means i have to come off my crutches very quickly, im not ready but no choice. My pain levels are still ridicuously high in the operated hip and i think my back has been made worse and obvs still needing double knee replacments in the future because of the OA. Im using no crutches in the house but my gait is horrendous but the more i do it im sure it will improve, one crutch on short journeys and 2 on long journeys like tomorrow when i go to the metro centre for the first time since surgery without my wheelchair. Very nervous and excited.

So 2 days ago I went on a bus ride to a local shop to get food for the lizards, i wason crutches and the bus driver had parked quite far away from the curb so it was a very high step to get onto the bus, he made no attempt to help me or lower the bus. That was the first thing that annoyed me, so i paid and began walking to my seat whenthe driver pulls away before I had gotten to my seat, i flew forward and caught onto one of the poles but twisted my leg and hip which was agony. Anyone else noticed that bus drivers are incredibly ignorant?

I decided to add some photos to this discussion to, i often find when i talk to people on here or form a relationship with them that it bugs me that i dont know what they look like so i assume others are the same, also someone asked me to share photos of my babies so ill do that to haha, and my old xray since i dont have an updated one as doctor never showed me

forgot to add there is another surgery for them to add up to 13 but i cant remember what it is xD

I am horrified by the attitude of the bus conductor. I think I would write to the bus company as they should train their staff properly.

I did as it happened twice in a week. Well i wrote a tweet to them on twitter and they said its actual policy that they have to wait till your seated but i also wrote an in depth complaint on there site. It has happened many times to me but it was scarier this time i was vulnerable as it was the first time i got on a bus alone since before surgery and i hurt myself.

You have been on a very long journey Sarah, you are still so young. Your pic of yourself is lovely so pretty. Fingers crossed for your upcoming surgery. I will just be coming back off holiday in the Isle of Wight so forgive me if I forget to send good wishes.

I'm doing fine at the moment, looking forward to my holiday and a break away from the bungalow.

Love Gillxx

Aww thankyou. Bet you're excited for your trip. It will be lovely for you. Glad to hear you are doimg well πŸ˜€ xx

Lovely photos Sarah (apart from the hippie ones obviously)! Next time you get on the bus, ask him to wait until you're seated. I know you shouldn't have to but at least you won't hurt yourself x

Ill make sure to do that tomorrow if im last on bus and if he doesnt another complaint will be made. I dont usually do that but i feel strongly on this matter tbh. And thanks hun xx

I hope they listen to you tomorrow. They are incredibly stupid as if you are hurt it could really cost them.

Deffo. Id have been sueing if i landed back in hospital πŸ˜‚

Sarah, by law bus drivers here must wait until you're seated. You did the right thing by filing a complaint. Mahalo for the update & photos - I love the one of you in eyeglasses & your lizard smiling at you. I'll pick a bad selfie so people can know who they're talking to.

Best to you on your upcoming surgery.

Son & I meet with surgeon Monday for 3 month check. Hoping to hear approval on next THR.

My lizards are so needy. Thankyou.

Wish it was law here.

Wishing your soon luck x

You and your lizards are so beautiful and precious. ..

I don't know what to say about the bus driver..it hurts in my heart when I hear stories like this. ..

so unnecessary and rude and disrespectful

I am so sorry that this happened to you

Big warm hug

You look lovely and your little man is adorable.

Iv got my second physio on Monday but may be my last as iv got surgery the week after haha xx

Cute pic's of a cute girl...Love the lizards, and as far as a bus I never ride them...

Hope your LAST surgery goes well...

Super photos - goodness you are beautiful. And your lizards could truly persuade me!

Impossible to respond to the history of surgeries you have endured and yet another to come. I've said it before and I will say it again, you are one strong woman.

I cannot believe how stupid the bus driver was. I hope you got the bus or badge number. You might consider asking for a witness to corroborate if this ever happens again (I have to hope not).

How are you feeling about the surgery aside from the very natural worry about the crutches? I hope it will mean some true relief in your life.

Big hugs Sarah. I will be watching for news after the 30th.
