Hello everyone
Just thought I would give you an update on my progress 11 days post op
Doing a little bit more each day and when my body says 'rest' that's what I do
Hubbie took me to our local restaurant tonight - first trip out!
Went in my slippers as foot still swollen and took my seat cushion with me - we are regular customers so didn't feel as embarrassed as I would have done elsewhere. Got in and out of car really easily - so much less pain than pre op - putting a plastic bag on seat
made it easier
Another little milestone out of the way!
Skin very dry and flaky and little bit red on swollen foot
Pharmacist in local chemist recommended E45 cream
Dressing on operation site coming off on Thursday - feels quite itchy now so will be glad to have it off and then a nice long shower!
I wonder what tonight will bring- just how much sleep will I get?
thank goodness for iPad and TV. Have a good night everyone and good luck to those with ops tomorrow xxxxxxxx
Kind regards Linda
Glad to hear you are progressing well. Hope you continue to do so!
Hi Linda ... a mile stone indeed !!! I had to let go of many of my inhabtions along the way ... you have a good night too - warm hug

Well, they said it would be a life changing experience!
sleep tight!
Well done. A little and often is the best way forward I found. xx
Great! Love the plastic bag on the seatπ
Well done. It's good to see you are getting out and about.
I am 8 days post op and doing well too. I'm getting on with the exercises and thankfully no swelling. Can't wait to have a shower though! I was 'glued' and can't have my dressing off until next Monday.
it is so nice when I go out. Physio again tomorrow.
Best wishes
Westie π
Good morning Westie
Glad you are doing well too
My swelling didn't start till day 8 - I thought I was going to get away with it!
i am sure it will sort itself out
You are lucky - no organised phsio at my end - you just do recommended exercises but my leg feels loose and mobile so I think all is progressing well
I have dissolvable stitches so just dressing to come off - I wonder if they yank it off like a sticking plaster or do it bit by bit! that will be an experience!
Yes, looking forward to my shower too - another little milestone!
keep in touch and let me know your progress
Warm wishes Linda xx ππ
I was told no car trips until passed the 6 weeks due to the vibration
Hi Sheila
Wasn't told that, but my journey from hospital was a 45 minute ride and I've got to go in car to get dressing removed so some travelling must be OK
Hope you are progressing well
Regards Linda xx
I was only allowed to travel in a car, to visit Dr. or hospital appointments
so that meant that I was mainly house bound as have a long steep drive, to the house, up a very steep hill, have just reached my 6 weeks
so managed to 'do' the hill with just one crutch, my son is coming to stay for a few days so hope to get out, also I want him to be with me as I drive my car for the first time
prehaps it depends if a planned op or accident ?
hope all goes well for you, hugs
Hi linda,
I have dissolvable stiches as well; the nurse peeled off the dressing very gently, it did not hurt at all. Under the dressing I have small bits of sticky plaster, eight or nine in all and she said to leave them and they would drop off...sometimes it takes two weeks. I have lost many of them after showering, I have only got four now, right in the centre of the cut...which is still quite painful.
Best wishes
Ella
Good luck with your car driving, Sheila - another milestone!
kind wishes linda xxπ
Hi Ella
That doesn't sound too bad then
I am hoping that my scar will not be too big with me having the Superpath procedure
Have they told you to put anything on it I.e Bio Oil or anything
Regards Linda xx π
