Uppder Abdominal Bloating after eating

I have upper abdominal bloating, plus an accumulation of belly fat after a couple months of high stress. This fat could be high cortisol, or it could be due to inflammation. This is the cause of sudden belly fat. I gained the belly fat while simultaneously losing weight (wasn't eating enough due to stress). I tried to diet and exercise and the belly fat wouldn't budge. All I did was lose fat everywhere else. This is very new for me. I can hardly eat anything without my upper abdomen under my ribs bloating. I'm down to only being able to eating bananas, eggs, and Meal Replacement shakes without bloating. My bowel movements look healthy. They are not as brown as usual, but I think it's because of all of the Raw Meal Shakes I've been drinking every day. I can't decode what my issue is. If I knew, then I would know what I can and can't eat. And how to fix it. Is this IBS? Any other thoughts? These are all my symptoms.

Go to the doctor for a check up to see whats going on with your stomach.

Your diet is very hash, you need to go to the doctor to find out what is causing you to bloat, do let us know how you get on . Good luck

Bloating can be caused by a number of things. It doesn't sound like food bloating; could be 'liquid'. For example; your kidneys can bloat, and your bladder can retain fluid without you realising it.. cuasing the upper abdominal area to 'bloat'; and it may affect breathing. The  body can also 'retain' fluid' if you have high salt intake.

remember; your body can work even if things are not functioning like new; it can also 'repair itself' in some respects.  You have however identified that it COULD be what you are ingesting. You can try the following:-

One; reduce your caffeine intake and measure your urine output.. go on a liquid fast for a day; and let your bladder empty (your bladder can retain fluid even when you think it is empty and this can affect the kidneys)..; try this for a few days to a week. ifyou need 'water' eat things like radishes and red grapes; which are anti oxidant instead of tea/ coffee etc. Drink some water when needed.

Try ingesting some turmeric; it is a natural anti inflammatory with no side effects.

reduce salt intake; so your body doesn't 'store' water.

If you want some medical tests; might i suggest kidney and bladder test first,to see if your kidneys are working properly. (since it is your 'upper' abdomen)..

I hope this helps.. good luck smile
