Upped my Zoloft 7 days ago, still experiencing increased anxiety symptoms

My Dr. started me on 50 mg of Zoloft for 3 weeks which improved my mood and concentration after a couple of weeks but stil didn't get rid of my anxiety symptoms so he upped me to 100 mg. I have been on the higher dosage for 7 days now, the first couple of days I didn't notice any side effects or change in anxiety symptoms.

But from day 3 to 7 on the 100 mg I am noticing I am having increased anxiety. How long should it take before I start to notice less anxiety, it seems to be counterproductive to be taking this medication for anxiety and it is increasing it

Everybody is different but Zoloft can take up to two months to get normalized in your system. I had a similar experience where my health anxiety was triggered by dizziness but the side effects from Zoloft made my dizziness worse so I ended up in a cycle. Eventually the Zoloft normalized in my body and things got better.

Yeah that's pretty much what my Dr is telling me and to be patient. I know it will be worth it if my anxiety will go away, it's just now that it's increased anxiety I feel like this never is going to end.

So if I took it for 3 weeks at 50 mg, then went to 100 mg does that mean I'm starting all over on the time it will take to stabilize, I.E. This is like week 1 instead of week 4?

Thanks

My guess would be in the middle somewhere. Your body has started to get used to the med so the adjustment for an increase should take less time to impact you positively. Just hang in there. Things will get better. A lot of what we go through is just the wrong balance of chemicals being produced in our brains. It can take some back and forth to find the right balance for each individual
