I have been experiencing upper abdomen pain since last one year Done gastroscopy n ultrasound all well
Recently been admitted to hospital with severe pain All blood tests Nirmal They sent me home with pain relief Very upset it has been ongoing n nothing g discovered. Constant Pain in upper abdomen n chest muscles and bones too.
Have you doctors considered functional pain if all your tests are normal?

Functional pain is when there is nothing physically wrong with the structture of a particular organ. The problem rather relates to a disorder in how it functions. IBS and functional dyspepsia are examples of this where no physical cause is found that is causing hearburn in the case of the stomach and in the case of IBS, where there is nothing to be seen in the bowel that is causing pain bloating or gas.
