Right now I am at a loss. I recently had a HIDA done and it resulted in my gallbladder functioning at 49%. Which is normal. However, I am still having similar fluctuating and ever present pain as a gallbladder attack.
Back story- I have had this pain since I was 15 years old. I am now 39. I was suspected by my family as having an eating disorder because the only way to relieve the pain was to make myself vomit. I did not have an eating disorder. My pediatrician diagnosed me with an ulcer when I was 15 without doing any tests. He gave me medicine to help the ulcer. Needless to say I made frequent visits because no medicine he gave me worked. Finally, at the age of 18 I just said forget it. I have lived with this discomfort for a long time.
Present day.... About a month ago I had a flare up. I vomitted all night long. I had severe pain in my upper right abdominal quad. I went to an MD360. They did not have the equipment to run any test except blood work up and urine analysis. My urine was flagged for WBC(4-5), RBC(3-5), Squamous Epithelial, UA,(6-15),Bacteria and mucus. My blood work up was flagged for WBC(13.8), RBC(5.41), MCV (72.5)
MCH (24.7). At the ER I had an ultrasound done and a CT. Both of which indicated no gallstones and no pancreatitis. I recently had an endoscopy done which resulted in barrett's esophagus. My Gastro dr wanted another ultrasound done which showed no gallstones but a fatty liver and my liver is enlarged to 19. my HIDA showed my gallbladder functioning at 49%. I am so discouraged. I realize you guys are not doctors. I have my follow up next friday. But honestly I am just at a loss. Its not that want anything to be wrong with me I just want to know why I have this pain. Anybody have a similar story?
