Up till just under 2 years ago I was fit and healthy individual in his late thirties who enjoyed running regularly. I picked up a cough and then during or just after I developed a pain just under my breast. It feels like something is pushing on my diaphragm and not only is it constant but it is aggravated by exercise. This also affects my throat, giving a tight sensation, sometimes it feels like I have a lump in my throat and I get upper back and neck ache. Because of this I avoid all exercise, even cycling seems to worsen it if I push to hard. Walking is OK. The only other thing that aggravates it is pressure on the abdomen i.e. wearing a tight belt or sucking in my stomach. There is a delayed effect, sometimes over 24 hours after exercise before the worst of the pain and it can last for days. I have had no findings from all the following tests Chest X-ray CT Scan of abdomen 2 Endoscopies Esophegeal manometry 24 hour Ph study Echocardiogram CT angiogram various blood tests including one for coeliac's disease I have tried H2 blockers and various PPIs but they seem to make it worse not better! I have also tried a preventative inhaler and gluten and dairy free diets. This condition is driving me mad because of the limitations it has placed on my life. Any advice would be appreciated.
