Upping dose do I get side effects again?

Hi guys

I have been on 5mg citalopram for 3 months now I take at bedtime as it makes me knackered! After speaking with the doc Iv to up it to 10mg tonight as my anxiety is still quite bad although slightly better it's not quite making me feel like my former self yet!!.. I'm just concerned that upping my dose will start all the horrible side effects again that I experienced first starting citalopram?? If so it wud make me re consider upping it at all to be honest!?

Hi Jennifer not sure I can help much but there is a chance that you would experience some side effects but to be honest 10mg is a low dose. What side effects did you experience with the 5mg?

I'm on day 17 of 20mg and the nausea is down right awful, but have to stick with it for the benefits. Anxiety is to awful to not stick with it.

Hi Victoria I was on 5 mg for 2 years and thought I was ok to come of it but was off it a few months and anxiety came back with a vengeance so I think that's y the 5mg is to low this time round , I just got worsened anxiety and extreme tiredness but I don't think I cud deal with worse anxiety! Iv two small children so have to be on the ball !!

I know it works so I'm keen to up the dose if it makes things better as last time I started it it was a god send it helped me so so much but Iv just not tried a bigger dose yet so was panicking it might take me back to square one!

When I went from 10mg to 20mg I did not get an increase in side effects - same thing with now,being on 30mg.

Ypu are welcome. I always go into things with a positive pov . I don't even read side effects of medicine because it will probably make me feel some that I have caused.

I was on 20 I went up to 30 yesterday and my anxiety is bad I don't know why I was fine and on Saturday I start feeling really sad really depressed ... On Monday I went to see the ps and they told to go up to 30 mg I also take buspirone 7.5 2 times a day ... I hope this pass quickly

Were you experiencing anxiety before you went on medicine?

Do you take anything for the anxiety , how are you managing it?

I was yes quite bad after coming of sertraline it was awful x
