Upping Sertraline dose?

Hi, i was woundering if any1 could give me some advice? I have been taking 50mg of sertraline since last year due to bad anxiety and panic attacks, am 25 years old and have a 4 year old daughter, this past year has been incredibly tuff, i have been trying my hardest not to let the anxiety control me anymore but its difficult. My doc has advised upping my dose to 100mg to see if that helps! I was woundering if any1 has had any side affects from upping their dose and if so how long does it last?

Hi my doctor wanted to increase my dosage to 100mg from 50mg but I told him I was having trouble with 50mg, but everybody tolerates dosages differently. I can take 1000mg of one drug but not much of another drug. Just ask your doctor what if any more side effects could you expect with a higher dose. Good luck.

I haven't had any trouble with the 50mg, i had a few side affects to begin with but the soon disapered. I have an appointment later in the week, i will speek to him then. Thanks for your reply.

I'm on 50 so this info is second hand

Max dose = 200 so 100 = half max dose

Lots of people seem to be on 100 or more

I guess it depends on how YOU feel - the side effects of upping ur dose will be less extreme than starting from 0 and if u feel it will help u cope I would go for it - u can always go back to 50

I think i would benefit better if i take the 100mg just a bit worried about side effects, can really be ill as i have a 4 year old! Thanks for your reply x

I was on 50mg for 4months then put up to 100mg didnt really have much side effects to be honest . you will be able to cope no probs

You should have no real problem. I went from 50/100/150 in 6 weeks. It takes about 3 weeks for the increased dose to take effect. The worst that can happen is a bit of an upset tummy but nothing to worry about.

I would say yes you do Im going to go up to 150mg when I go back doctors
