Upping to 40mg

Hi All,

I've been on 20mg since Jan 2010 and have now been doubled to 40mg, anyone know how long it takes before getting used to the higher dose? Took 2 for the first time this morning and feeling a bit unusual but hoping it won't be for too long.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have you been on 20mg for 18 months without any benefit? You don't say! And why are you increasing to 40mg? Is that your GP's advice? I guess that getting used to 40mg is no different to geting used to 20mg - there will be a period when you experience some strange symtoms but these ought to wear off after a few weeks. Take care of yourself.

Hi John,

I've been on the 20mg since Jan 2010 with a lot of benefits but also a few problems, I lost my Mother in October last year and then in March this year after a difficult period decided to go bankrupt and so I guess a combination of these two things plus the onset of the menopause hasn't helped. I went back to my GP in August as I was feeling pretty rough and he put me on HRT and after 6 weeks I felt even more depressed as I was having a lot of headaches and so after seeing another GP who immediately took me off HRT and upped the Cit to 40mg, I can say after taking them for just over a week now I am gradually beginning to feel a little better, I am sleeping well and looking forward to a coach trip next week with my husband which we have managed to save for even though we are bankrupt.

Hi Jane,

I started off at 20mg 3 months ago, then after 6 weeks my GP decided to up the dosage to 40mg, for the 1st week i felt awful and experienced alot of downfalls but now im glad i hung in there, after 3 weeks on the 40mg i felt so much better, with the 40mg and counselling, i feel now im taking the right path to recovery. Hope everything works out well for you smile

Hi Jane

 my dose has been upped from 30 to 40 and today is day 5 on the higher dose.  Not feeling too good at the moment - anxiety has increased but am hoping this is temporary - not sure how long it takes until I notice a difference with the higher dose.
