I am almost 7 weeks post op and feel I was better a week ago. I was using one cane and started to get severe neck pain and figured out it was from walking/leaning on cane. Has anyone else had this. So I stopped using the cane and have hip pain. Not just the stiffness when you stand up much more severe. My incision is perfect tho. I have tried just using tylenol over the counter and it;s not enough. Geesh I thought by this time I shouldnt need stronger. I am a realtor and have 2 appointments made for next week. After this past couple days I regret making and am feeling blue. Dancing for some? I am happy for all with a smooth recovery and kept telling myself its early in recovery but now 7 weeks isn't so early and curious on your thoughts? Happy new year too Hugs from Canada
I have developed a pain in my right shoulder (I have a 9.5 week left THR), so my stick / cane side - and I'm sure it's due to the punishment of leaning on the stick.

I have had all sorts of pains as a direct result of leaning too hard on one side, and trying to walk without an aid too soon, before my limp goes away. My lesson learned was to keep as evenly balanced as possible until I am healed enough, which hasn't happened yet. You might want to use two canes or two crutches for awhile until you feel better, and/or to cut back on your activity a bit.

We're definitely in the same boat. Don't feel bad or think it's just you having setbacks. We'll get there =)
I still have to lean on tramadol 6 weeks post-op because Im having psoas/groin problems that has basically stopped my recovery since week 3, with added back pains to boot.
My surgeon has just now gotten back from his 1 month holiday, so looking forward to seeing him in 2 weeks, as my therapist has basically said she doesn't know what else to do.
Point being.. hey, life sometimes makes us feel like we must be the only people being thrown these curve-balls, but we're all in the messy soup of recovery, so chin up. We'll get there.
Hi Savy...
As everyone has shared, recovery is a real roller-coaster. It sure can feel like there are days...weeks...where I feel like I take 3 steps forward and 4 steps back! My challenge in the land of uneventful recovery came a bit sonnet than yours (2 weeks post op), but come and find me it did! I was having a very smooth start...using a cane at the end of weekbtwo...less pain, more mobility and independence. ...and then...a wrong move in physical therapy and ouch...back to a walker. I am heading into my 6th week post op...and still need Tramydol and occasional oxicodone to function comfortably.
Some days I feel more capable and positive and pain free than others...but have not been able to regain my ability to fully weight bear again as I could in week 2.
Please don't let this get to you...Recovery is challenging...but we can do this!
Keeping very good healing thoughts for you and all of us Hipsters!
