About two months ago I had unprotected sex with a new partner.
I started to have symptoms of an STI and took a urine culture and was treated with a shot and 1 gram of azithromycin. My symptoms did not go away.
I went back to the doctor with sore and swollen, warm, red tested and was given a shot and a 10 day cycle of doxycycline. MY symptoms of epididmitis went away but the urethra pain did not.
The doctor also did a prostate exam and found nothing.
I went to the ER and the doctor there gave me a 28 day cycle of levaquin for prostatitis as my left testicle started to swell again.
The tip of my penis is still a bit red and my urethra hurts a bit still but not as bad as it used to. Im on day 5 of the levaquin.
My first urine culture came back without anything unusual and I got retested with urine and blood and everything came back negative. The only thing the doctor did not test my blood for was HSV 1 and 2 because i do not have any painful sores or lesions.
Should i be worried this is HSV even though i dont show any other symptoms besides the urethritis?
