Im open to any info or advice

Hmm atleast on paper that should be helping. Well firstly if your GP isnt, umm, fed up of your complaint / lazy / negligent you should see them about it, alot can happen in 16 or so years and you shouldnt have to suffer in silence the way you are :?

Im sceptical of natural remedies, but hows your diet, you have a high intake of fibre? Are you sick of being told your diets cr*p but really its perfectly fine (and usually far better than the critics diet)? :D

If your doctor isnt helpful theres still atleast a few over the counter medicines that may help, firstly theres Colofac this acts in a similar fashion to the Imodium to slow down the transit (for me this works good and it certainly lessens the needing the loo for nothing or next to nothing), another drug is called Merbentyl, this acts mostly on the intestines and again it slows the transit through the intestines, also if you suffer from gut ache / random pulled tummy muscle feelings etc Merbentyl can reduce these significantly, infact it can make your tummy feel pleasantly warm and numb (I take it and I like it a lot) :D Taking Paracetamol can also cause mild constipation, so taking some might help dry you out, if that doesnt help then Paracetamol and Codeine tablets (you can get generic ones from Boots for example) might help,, but be warned they are addictive,, the constipation caused by these is a little bit stonger, of course I mean stonger to a normal persons bowel not someone in your state where it just might help dry you out a bit more

Theres other things but hopefully somebody will fill these in for you below. Dont forget first see your GP as soon as you can, tell him / her sorry but this current medicine is ineffective and that you are miserable due to this ongoing state of affairs

I have just posted my IBS??? experience. Have you tried a food diary and cutting out any possible irritants. I had very similar problems urgencies for the loo and had even been know to use a whole roll of toilet paper in a day once! I have just found I am intolerant to cow's milk, and possibly wheat and oats. Some of the fibre was potentially making me worse. I am still monitoring my food and need to for another month. Do try it as it has made a real difference to my health. I feel heaps better. F
