ive been have some stomach pains (upper abdominal) pains and i went to my primary care doctor and they told at first it was gastritis so they prescribed me sucralfate and then i went to another doctor for a second opinion and they didnt do any type of test but told me also just by touching my stomach i had an peptic ulcer and they also prescribed me sucralfate and i continued to take said medication and recently was feeling sharp pain in the same spots so i then went to another (3rd different) doctor, he check my recent medical history, other hospitals vitals on me, and told me to see a GI specialist and prescribed me bentyl for stomach cramps and im not really sure with trusting doctors just by interactions ive been having with them and im not really sure but i do my own goodle searching like everyone does and i had a bowl movement that concerned me it was dark like soil type color i just need some info and help ill post some photos please anyone who reads this help me
to continue ive been feeling this pain since early march
based on the pic, ive had stools like that. if its greenish i think your ok if its in and off.
ive had ibs for years with stool colours of all types. mainly pale which isnt good and indicates liver problems which im finding out i have. ive had some very dark stools though that almost have a shade of green and no dr has said to worry but if its coffee like or maroon then contact dr or go to er as it could be blood loss. it could be from the ulcer so id contact your dr. if its alot or gets worse go to the er if you can. at least thats what i would do but im not trying to scare you as the ulcer probably wont cause you to bleed out but i am the type to be safe than sorry.
All shades of brown and even green are considered normal. Only rarely does stool color indicate a potentially serious intestinal condition.
