Been on citalopram for 9 days, also lorazapam. Having frequency, urgency and urine retention. Anybody else have same problem? Read it could be both meds. Can't just go off meds now, been on too long, especially lorazapam. Does it go away? I also have interstitial cystitis, a bladder disease, chronic. Going to ic specialist on Mon. Going nuts, help

I used to get cystitis a lot, at one point i thought i had interstitial cystitis too so i know your pain its awful! When i first started on citalopram i noticed i needed to use the toilet a lot more and i was waking during the night absolutely dying for a wee something which has never happened before. It seems to have calmed down a bit now ive been on the tablets for a while though so hopefully its just some side effects
Did you have this problem prior to celexa..?
Yes,but had it under control, celexa pushed it into overdrive, told it will it go way, trying to keep it under control with oxytrol, going to doc tomorrow. Maybe something else I can use, oxytrol only lasts 2 days, supposed to last 4. Out of all the side effects, i get this one. Have really bad anxiety too, doesn't help having to per constantly
