After being off my citalopram for a couple of months I ended up back on it (at 10mg) 7 weeks ago.
Approximately 5 weeks in i started getting urinary retention. Constant urge to urinate, even when Ive just been and feeling like I’ve leaked urine. I went to Urgent Care who did urine tests and basically said they were clear and they didn’t know what it was.
I then worked out its probably because of my citalopram, although i didnt get this when i started on my citalopram the first time (approx 6 years ago).
My question is, has anybody else suffered from urinary retention as a side effect before? Did it go away?
Trying to be sensible and hold out contacting the GP to see if it goes away but I’m also majorly panicking about it so any advice/reassurance would be great!
