Has anyone had bouts of frequent urination as a side effect?
I did that issue for the 4 years that I was on Mirt. It was a major inconvenience but did go away once I got off Mirt.
Really? That's interesting because it's not known as a side effect of the medication and my doctor encouraged me to stay on it citing this reason. Are you male or female?
No but I am on a med that has frequent peeing as a side effect however I’m not currently taking it as I’m feeling sick most of the time.
I am feeling sick. Lot of the time and so tired on my med. i can hardly get up and nightly sleep,is very disturbed. What is causing you to feel so ill
Pls c my original post 4 that
hi ru
yes I had same problem while on mirt... it don't list all the side effects on the leaflet, like , gives you anixey, messes up you nervous syetem makes you feel like a zombie etc etc.... I'm off mirt coming 13wks now and I'd more side effects that I can't remember half of them..
I was on mirtazapine for 16months didn't help me but if it works for you that's brill and if it's just more peeing it causing then you could cope with that

It caused a host of issues for me. My hubby said it was like I was 20 years older overnight.
And I recall reading that it was a side effect. Most importantly, it did go away when I got off Mirt. That is the biggest indicator for me.
Thank you for all the responses. It's interesting hearing all this because my doctor keeps saying that urination symptoms aren't side effects of the meds but clearly it's not impossible. Maybe I'm one of the few who experience it. I've only really been on 15mg so I think it shouldn't be difficult just stopping it.
You might want to try a small taper first to see if you are sensitive to reductions in Mirt. I went off cold turkey and spiraled out of control. After 10 days, I reinstated and it took another month or so to stabilize. It was not for the faint of heart. After, I reduced by about 5% every 10 days for about a year and I still had some WD effects. So please be cautious in your approach.
And I’m part of a WD support group where we all are struggling with WD so it is real. And I am successfully off now for over a year.
Thanks for the advice. In some ways I wish I never started this drug as it hasn't improved my mood a great deal. Still not excited about my future or feel confident that life can change for the better. I've always established that my depression is as a result of circumstances and situational issues rather than a chemical imbalance but anyway that's another discussion for another time!
I have helped my mood issues through diet as well as my son. It has been a miracle. If you want more info, you can PM me. I’ve also posted elsewhere on this site about this healing through simple dietary changes.
It’s withdrawal, I stopped cold turkey as my pharmacy quit providing them 2 me
