So I've had this issue for ages now. It's been like 3 months in total. I've had so many tests within this time. Had countless urine samples, swab tests, blood tests, I've had ultrasound tests and also been to see a urologist. The urologist has told me it's most likely a mental thing and I need to try and just live and try to forget the feeling.
So the feeling is like an almost constant feeling like I need to go for a pee. Even if I have just gone, the urge is reduced but never completely gone. Then it gradually gets worse and worse. I have tried bladder training, the longest I have managed to go without peeing was 4.5 hours but the urge got fairly intense in around an hour from starting. The urge gets worse when I go out and seems to be the only thing I can think of. This obviously makes it even worse as I sometimes start to panic and that makes the urge worse. I am anxious about going out. It's like that feeling you get when you have to preform a presentation in front of people, that nervousness before actually doing it. That's basically how it feels. I suppose I'm worried I'm going to pee myself and I feel safe at home.
So has anyone else had a similar issue to this? How did you get around it?
This is driving me insane. I start university again in a month and a half and if I'm anything like I am currently I have no idea how I'm going to concentrate.
Hi
I have exactly the same thing. I have been told it is my anxiety. When the body is in that state of fight or flight response your body tries to get rid of anything it has such as urine it even from the other end especially if you have eaten.
I have suffered long term anxiety episodes for the past 7 months and I have had very bad stomach cramps and also have the urge to constantly go to the toilet even though I don’t need sometimes.
It’s awful.
I hope yours doesn’t last too long.
Take care
I get the same the more water I drink the more I go it gets absolutely ridiculous then starts to hurt. I find if I don’t drink water though my Irvine is very strong.
Do you get any pain ?
I’ve had urine tests blood tests they say everything is normal but it definitely not. I’ve got very high anxiety 24/7
Your urologist has medication samples that will curb your urgency or will prescribe them.
Can a gp proscribe anything like this ?
I’ve got really bad health anxiety and am taking lorazepam every 6 hours to calm down I work myself up so much that I throw up
Thank you for your reply.
It's horrible isn't it. The worst part is you never know when it's real so you almost can't ignore it at all times.
I hope you don't have this issue too much longer, you've been more months than I have.
Take care
Hello Carl,
I don't get any pain. Although I sometimes get an ache, not quite a pain but not exactly pleasant either. I don't think the doctors will keep anything from us, if they found something in your urine or blood tests they would have said something. Try to accept it may be completely mental. I'm struggling with this personally as I almost don't want to believe this is in my head. But there doesn't seem to be any other logical reason as of yet.
Hope you find peace,
Take Care
