Has anyone experienced darker than normal urine or bad dehydration on antidepressants? I’ve noticed it’s not clear a lot of the day and have tight calves etc. I’ve recently started 75mg of venlafaxine and at night 50mg of quietiapine...
Hi I don't know about that other drug but venlfaxine I have my son has them and there very addictive he's really sick if he runs out and misses just one tablet your supposed to be monitored very carefully on them my advice would be not to take them my son is supposed to be monitored but isn't they have caused problems I can only go of my experience with my son .
The colour of your urine can be caused by many things, if you are dehydrated it may be that, dark urine.
When you hydrate and you pee more frequent, the colour will be more clear. Dark urine can be noticed on a hot day if you fail to re-hydrate enough. When the urine is dark the pee is more concentrated with various body things things, including urine. If the urine smells bad a chat with the doctor may help put your mind at rest. If still concerned with above a test can be performed in surgery, get a test performed.
BOB.
agree with Carol. I would not take any diuretics until the dr says it is ok to do so.
I have researched these drugs and the information on the Patient Information Leaflet is that if you have the side effects you describe your son has to see the dr as soon as possible who may decide to do some blood tests to check kidney function and check blood pressure.
think that only the dr can reassure you and your son .
If there are no appointments available ask for a telephone consultation. My dr usually rings me back later in the day if there are any queries and the dr would rather know sooner than later. Take care.
