I am schedule for Urolift in 10 day and I have a mddile lobe. Doctors will place Urolift first and check openning and only if necesary do a combined procedure and resect the mddle lobe also.
has anyone had this procedure or similar?
age 61 problems since 201 handled w/meds , not working anymore. residual 200, prostate size 37
Would be interested how this goes with the enlarged middle lobe using the Urolift procedure.
Hi, I recently found I have the same issue and visited Dr Peter Chin (South Coast Urology, near Sydney) who was one of the Australian inventors of the Urolift procedure. He advised me that it is possible of use the Urolift to pull back the middle lobe with one of the other lobes and he has done this successfully before. He will not know if he needs to or can do this prior to getting in there. If this is not possible then the next but least favourable option is the resection. Suggest you talk to yuor doctor about using the Urolift to sort out the middle lobe too -f he is not aware he could get in touch with Dr Chin.

I live in NZ and will be going to Aussie to have the procedure.
My Dr doesn't want to do that. He says he will place Urolift and check the opening and after that during the same procedure he will decide either to shave
the middle lobe or not.
Wonder why. Peter Chin syas he has done this successfully many times. He does say that he can only assess whether tying the middle lobe will work when he gets in there and may have to have a resection. Good luck anyway - let us know how it goes.
